Lineage

Lineage is the world's largest temperature-controlled warehouse and logistics company, operating more than 480 facilities across 18 countries in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. It serves food and beverage manufacturers, retailers, foodservice distributors, and increasingly, direct-to-consumer brands that require frozen, refrigerated, or multi-temperature storage and distribution. The company is structured as a real estate investment trust (REIT) and has grown through extensive acquisition and investment in automation and data science.

Warehouse operations span public cold storage, dedicated distribution, blast freezing, cross-docking, and value-added services such as kitting, repacking, labeling, and inspection support. Lineage also offers DTC fulfillment designed for pick, pack, and ship workflows within temperature-controlled environments. Many facilities feature advanced automation including automated storage and retrieval systems, and the company has developed proprietary warehouse execution technology (LinOS) to manage operations at its next-generation facilities.

For logistics teams, Lineage is a significant source of cold chain warehousing data — including inventory positions across a vast multi-facility network, outbound order and shipment status, lot tracking, and fulfillment throughput. The scale and geographic spread of the network mean that inventory visibility, order routing, and distribution timing data from Lineage facilities are often central to coordinating temperature-controlled supply chains.
