About Owlery
Owlery is an AI-native shipping and logistics platform for growing brands and manufacturers. Our customers are consumer brands, food and beverage companies, and small manufacturers that come to us when they've outgrown spreadsheets and broker portals for their freight.
Alongside the platform, customers get an AI Teammate that lives in Slack, Teams, or email and works as an extension of their ops team. Freight in the platform has grown 4x year over year for two years running. We're a small team founded by Uber Freight veterans.
The Role
Here's what makes this job special: our target market isn't a vague profile. We know the types of companies we sell to and we can identify most by name. And few have even heard from us. You'll own outbound to those accounts. You'll figure out what actually gets a reply and turn that into qualified meetings for our sales team.
This is a build it job. You'll be on the ground floor shaping how we execute. If you'd rather be given a tested sequence and asked to run it, this isn't the role for you and that's ok.
What you'll do
- Research and qualify target accounts. Work out fit, find the right contact, get the title right.
- Run outbound sequences, personalized at the account level rather than mail-merged.
- Test messaging systematically. Defined variants, defined segments, and a clear read on which ones work.
- Log and categorize every reply, including the negative ones. A good "no" is as useful to us as a booked meeting. This is one of the most important parts of the job.
- Book qualified meetings against a qualification standard we'll set with you early on.
- Bring us angles we haven't tried. New segments, new channels, new reasons to reach out. We'll double down on whatever works.
Who you are
- You've run B2B outbound before, ideally for a US or European software company. You know what a sequence is, what a reply rate is, and why deliverability matters.
- Your English is excellent. This job is almost entirely writing and speaking. Your emails need to read like one person wrote to one company, and any calls need to be friendly and personable.
- You're genuinely organized. Hundreds of accounts across live sequences. Things slipping through is the main way this role fails.
- You're curious about what you're selling into. The best people in this job start noticing patterns and say so. That means being able to identify which industries, titles, and companies engage, and those that don't.
- You can work the overlap hours consistently.
Helpful, not required:
- experience with Hubspot, Apollo, LinkedIn, and other sales engagement tools
- experience selling into supply chain, logistics, or operations
What success looks like
In your first month, you know the product, the buyer, and the target list. You're sending, and the first replies are coming back.
Within three months, we know things we didn't know before you arrived: which messages get answered, which segments respond and which are dead, and what people say when they say no. You've booked meetings that turned into real conversations, and we have the beginnings of a sequence worth scaling.
What you get
- Direct working with the founding team at a fast growing Logistics AI company
- A defined target market to pursue
- Real influence over how this channel gets built, and how it informs our product positioning
- Competitive salary benchmarked to your local market, with uncapped commission
